Rotation Diets...

The idea that once you find a food that works for your pet, you should never switch was coined by major food manufacturers decades ago when they created dog kibble as we know it! This couldn’t be farther from the truth! In their wild state, canines and felines never eat the same thing two meals in a row. They are meant to eat a variety of whole fresh foods. We emphasize strongly on rotating their diets for a variety of reasons.

Reduced Risk of Food Allergies
Many allergies to common fed ingredients can develop over time when pets are consistently fed the same food month after month. Rotating their diet reduces the risk of allergies and intolerances because one specific type of protein is not being overfed, so the body does not become sensitive.

Improved Hydration
Dry is dry! Adding freshness to their food offers the hydration they need for optimal health. We often see urinary and kidney issues in cats and dogs which stems from dehydration. Cats especially do not drink enough water, so adding canned or raw is very important for their diet and to eliminate issues that could develop.

Reduced Pickiness
Giving your pet variety by rotating their diet not only is a health benefit, but can also reduce their pickiness in food. Pets that are being the same thing day after day are accustomed to specific textures and flavors are less likely to try new foods. Pets that are fed a Rotation Diet are excited about their meals due to the variety of proteins and forms.

How do I start a rotation diet?
Pets of all ages can enjoy a rotation diet. To begin, introduce new proteins (chicken, beef, salmon, venison, duck, etc…. ) and different forms (dry, raw, canned) into your pet’s current diet.
